Pool Swimming

We currently use Sportslink, Santry, ALSAA Santry, and the National Aquatic Centre (NAC), Blanchardstown for our pool swim sessions. Each swim session is spilt up according to ability which is decided by our club coach Elena. Swim sessions are in high demand and are booked per quarter in advance. The Friday morning swim session in the NAC is in the 50m pool configuration and Monday evening session in Sportslink, and the Friday evening session in the ALSAA are in 25m pools.

Upon arrival for a swim session, members just need to tell the receptions they are with Fingal Triathlon Club and they will be allowed to proceed to the changing areas to partake in the session.  Entry to the pool is strictly for these sessions only.

What to bring

Items needed for a pool swim session include:

  • Swimming trunks/swimsuit.
  • Swimming cap.
  • Goggles.
  • Hydration, water or sports drink.

However, we do use other equipment that will help to improve your technique regardless of what level you’re at and these include. Please see the links for some examples. The suggestions are from one shop in Ireland, there are other alternatives so do shop around.

Open Water Sea Swimming Sessions

During the summer months we also have open water swim sessions on a Thursday evening.  These sessions are not coached and all participants of open water swim sessions do so at their own risk.  It is the individual responsibility of each participant to ensure that they are physically fit and competent to take part in open water swimming.

Before attending these sessions, all participants are requested to read the attached terms for open water swimming.
