Naas Duathlon Report

#

Giz a laugh: Destination Naas my first Duathlon with the exception of the club trip to Corkagh Park, Number 1 piece of advice from club members was to enjoy and learn for future events it's early in the season. Car locked and loaded destination Naas race course , Got there parked the car went over to the grandstand not many bikes around 😱 but it was early and registration started from 10:30 back to car checked email again oops I was in Naas Racecourse as opposed to Punchestown racecourse 😂 Any way next stop Punchestown which was only a short distance away 😅I arrived this time I knew I was at the right as plenty of Carbon fibre go fast machines on view, OMG what I am going to do I better hide my bike quick, Registration and number collection was straight forward. set the bike in position in transition area👍 It was cold and a breeze was blowing what to wear 🤔 As the Nike slogan says "Just do It" , short briefing before the start and were off a lap of the ambulance track was ahead of us,  Run 1 done dusted I was gasping for air , as I picked up my bike I could hear some else say where did I leave my bike  but they got sorted and it was on to the road we go, out on the road it was cool with cross winds and throw in some rolling hills, the bikes were gliding up and down the road I could only just watch in awe as they swoshed by me . Half way there around the roundabout and were heading back and the speed picked up  and I had no more gears 😂 Return to transition quick change of shoes and 1 lap of 🚑track to go, I can do this but legs said what do think you are at but the slowly started to respond again, Finished 🥳 Post mortem and chats followed and best of all the greet and high 5 from the Fingal flyers aka, Dave,Liz,Yann and Amelia Job done , all home safe and well till the next one. It was safe secure event well Marshalled friendly event. I may even go back in few weeks to Punchestown
