Ken's Amazing Triathlon de l'Alpe d'Huez-Epreuve L Adventure

#

We are super proud of our club member Ken Cahill who recently successfully completed the grueling Traithlon de l'Alpe d'Huez-Epreuve L.  This race is not for the faint hearted as it started off with a 2.2km lake swim, which as he says was 'nice and cold'.

He then took the bike out on what can only be described as a savage course that included 3,200 metres of climbing in the 120km course which finishes with 1,000 metres of climbing over the last 13km of climbing up the l'Alpe d'Huez featuring a stomach churning 21 bends with 9.5% elevation.

As if that wasn't tough enough the 19.5km trail run comprised over 340 metres of elevation at an altitude of 1,800 metres making the air very thin and an extremely challenging and difficult run.

Despite all that Ken would highly recommend this race for anyone who wants a really good challenge.

We hope he's as proud of his achievement as we are!

Well done Ken, we're looking forward to hearing what's next for you.
