Fingal Triathlon Club is delighted to announce that it has been chosen to host a Triathlon Ireland National Series Sprint, a National Championship Aquabike and a Youth National Series race.

All races will take place in Skerries on Sunday August 18, 2024.

“It’s a real honour to be awarded National Series races on the Triathlon Ireland Calendar,” said Fingal Triathlon Club Race Coordinator, Catherine Walsh.

“While we have hosted many triathlon races in Skerries in the past we are absolutely thrilled to secure these Triathlon Ireland National and Youth Series races. Our race is hugely popular and sells out really fast.”

The Triathlon Ireland National Series Sprint race comprises a 750m swim followed by a 20k bike and a 5k run, while the National Championship Aquabike distance is a two part discipline comprising a 750m swim followed by a 25k flat bike course.

The Club will have five age group junior triathlon races also on Sunday, August 18, three of which are part of Triathlon Ireland’s Youth National Series.

Walsh said “We are thrilled to have three of our age group junior races as part of the Youth National Series. Coaching and developing our junior club members is our passion and it is our aim to grow the sport of triathlon in the younger age group in Fingal."

“Extensive preparation has already started for what will be a fantastic day of triathlon sport in Skerries on August 18, showing our Club, Fingal and its community off to its absolute best and we’d like to thank Fingal County Council for its support,” she added.
